As an SEO Specialist (Brazilian Portuguese-Language Markets), you will own the firm's Brazilian Portuguese search presence. This is not a translation role — it is a content ownership role with real impact on people navigating one of the hardest times in their lives.
This role is hybrid or remote and reports directly to the firm's Marketing Director. You will carry significant responsibility from day one, with real room for growth as the firm continues to expand.
Key Responsibilities
1. Keyword Research & On-Page Optimization
- Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis through a Brazilian Portuguese lens
- Optimize on-page elements including meta tags, headers, content, and internal linking for Brazilian-market search behavior
- Implement and maintain schema markup to improve search visibility and rich results
2. Link Building & Content
- Develop and execute link-building strategies with Brazilian community and media publishers
- Create and optimize original Brazilian Portuguese content that connects with the community culturally and linguistically
- Write and optimize English SEO content with the same standard of quality as Portuguese-language work
3. Technical SEO
- Perform technical SEO audits, monitor site health, and implement fixes to ensure the site is crawlable, fast, and error-free
- Stay current on algorithm updates, technical SEO best practices, and Brazilian-market SEO trends
4. Reporting & Local SEO
- Monitor rankings, traffic, and conversions across language segments
- Support local SEO strategies targeting Massachusetts-based Brazilian communities
Typical Workday and Workweek
The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for hybrid or remote work.
A typical workday includes:
- Reviewing ranking reports and identifying optimization opportunities
- Producing or editing Brazilian Portuguese content for the firm's web properties
- Conducting keyword and competitive research
- Running technical audits and resolving crawl or speed issues
- Tracking performance metrics and preparing weekly progress reports
Qualifications
- Native or near-native Brazilian Portuguese fluency with publication-quality written Portuguese accurate for a Brazilian audience
- Strong written English fluency — English SEO content writing is also required
- 2 to 4 years of SEO experience, agency or in-house
- Demonstrated experience with Portuguese-language or Brazil-market SEO
- Solid understanding of technical SEO including site audits, crawl issues, page speed, Core Web Vitals, and schema markup
- Familiarity with tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, and Screaming Frog
- Experience writing SEO content for immigration or personal injury law firms
- Bonus: personal connection to or understanding of the Brazilian immigrant experience in the U.S.

- Organic ranking improvements in Brazilian Portuguese search segments
- Content quality and cultural accuracy of Brazilian Portuguese output
- Technical SEO health — crawl errors, page speed, and Core Web Vitals scores
- Link-building volume and domain authority growth
- Reporting consistency and accuracy of weekly performance summaries
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Month-over-month improvement in Brazilian Portuguese keyword rankings
- Increase in organic traffic from Brazil-market and Brazilian community search segments
- Zero critical technical SEO errors outstanding beyond 48 hours
- Consistent delivery of SEO content on the agreed publishing schedule
- Positive feedback from the Marketing Director on content quality and strategic alignment
