About the Role
The Fractional CFO / Financial Coach is the primary client-facing owner of an assigned portfolio of advisory relationships.
This is not a back-office accounting or bookkeeping role. The professional in this position becomes a trusted financial advisor to business owners—interpreting what their numbers are actually saying and translating financial information into clear, actionable business decisions.
The role is responsible for carrying the firm's established advisory methodology directly to clients and owning each relationship end to end. This includes leading the monthly meeting cadence, delivering strategic financial diagnoses, holding clients accountable to agreed initiatives, and building relationships that drive long-term retention.
Success means becoming the financial voice clients trust, delivering measurable business outcomes, and being a key reason clients continue the advisory relationship year after year.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Ownership
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted financial advisor for an assigned portfolio of clients.

Monthly Advisory Delivery

Financial Analysis & Interpretation

Methodology & Process Improvement

Qualifications
Professional Background

Substantial experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Finance
- FP&A
- Controllership
- Fractional CFO services

Alternatively, significant experience as a cross-functional operator with strong financial command, such as:
- COO

Strong ability to read and interpret:

Experience with owner-operated businesses is a strong advantage.

- Review the day's scheduled client meetings.

Late Morning – Client Advisory Meeting
Lead a structured monthly performance meeting covering:

Midday – Documentation & Follow-Through
- Document decisions made during client sessions.

- Lead a second client engagement, or

Performance Evaluation & Accountability
The Fractional CFO / Financial Coach reports directly to the Practice Leader and is accountable for the overall health, retention, and outcomes of an assigned client portfolio.
Performance is evaluated not only on financial analysis, but also on the professional's ability to build trusted relationships, maintain consistent advisory delivery, influence client decisions, and contribute to measurable business outcomes.
